исподлобья [is-pad-LOB'-ya] (adverb) – with a frown, sullenly

Ребёнок вглянул на неё исподлобья и ничего не ответил. = The child gave her a sullen look and didn't reply anything.

Что ты смотришь исподлобья? = Why are you frowning?


"Исподлобья" literally means "из-под лба" (= from under your forehead). It's usually used with different verbs meaning "to look".
