подводить - to let down

подводить / подвести [pad-va-DIT'/pad-ves-TI] (imperfective/perfective verb) – to let (someone) down

Саша очень меня подвёл - обещал быть на собрании, и так и не пришёл. = Sasha really let me down - he'd promised to come to the meeting, and he never came.

Мы надеемся на тебя, не подведи! = We count on you, don't let us down!

Аня не подведёт, она надёжный человек. = Anya won't let you down, she's a reliable person.
